Depicting Microsoft with the dollar sign ($) is DEROGATORY, for the company
and the employees that work there. These guys are trying to help you out
when you post in these groups, but to turn around and deface the name in
this matter is just throwing it back in their faces.

After all, I bet your job or career AND basically your livelyhood has
something to do with Microsoft products.

No, not a legend or an MS employee, but just thought I would jump in there
for them.

I guess you believe otherwise?

Ace,

Ray explained why he posts in the past with the same subjects as spam
messages. It's to put them on the bottom, he means no harm by it, but I
personally don't like it because it involves scrolling all the way down to
the bottom to look at the latest spam.

Ray - I recommend and plead that you stop doing it. Aside from giving
yourself a bad name, it also bothers people (that is, I'm sure it's not just
me)

I understand and read his previous posts on how he does this, which is a
good thing. I just don't agree to the insignia. Just thought I would jump in
for them, knowing how MS employees don't like that.

I'm not an MS employee, but I my career is based on certain guidelines I
have to follow from Microsoft.

Thanks for explaining that for me while I was not around.

I'll take your suggestion under advisement. :] Sometimes it's hard to just
stay out of it when someone is attacking MS and the newsgroup participants
who may not know better.

Which begs the obvious question: "On the bottom of _what_?". At which point
we discover that he thinks that everyone else's news readers order messages in
the same way that his does. (Everyone else doesn't even _receive_ messages in
the same order that he does, let alone view them in the same order in their
NUAs. Usenet operates by flood fill; and NUAs, even when viewing by thread,
have a variety of subtle ordering variations.)

No, that is not what Ray thinks. It actually puts mine on the top of my
list, because I know that I sort my messages in a non-majority way. The
point of bottom-posting a message is to "hide" the message from the majority
of users until Microsoft notices it and deletes the message. It's a way of
helping out a percentage of the users, since the majority of users of these
newsgroups use Outlook Express, and OE will put the message at the bottom of
the list. And the bottom is not necessarily at the bottom. The bottom in
whichever way you order it.

I'm well aware of the fact that people view things in different ways. And I
am well aware that bumping a message will only hide it from some people, not
all. But if I can save one person from executing a virus on his machine, it
is worth dealing with this nonsense to which I am replying.

Hi Ace,

I 100% agree. Please note that I am not the starter of the subject line. I
was merely bumping the malicious message to the bottom of the list.
